Take a look around – the photos on the site are mostly from Nova Scotia which is on the East Coast of Canada; hence the name Mostly The Coast.
My name is John McCarthy – I have been taking photos for the last six years or so and am glad to have a place to display them. I live in Nova Scotia and the photos found here are those of how I see the province. Some of the photos are HDR experiments, some are Digital SLR and/or 35mm SLR and there are even some medium format photos taken with my Pentax 645 and Holga cameras.
If you want to use any of my images for commercial use, contact me by email. All of my images can be viewed on Flickr and most are under a Creative Commons License. A few of my images are licensed to Getty Images however so shoot me an email just to be sure. There are a lot of other photos on my Flickr account – I tend to choose my favorites for the blog here.
I try to provide a decent amount of info as to how the photos are taken but sometimes the info I provide can be sparse 0_o – therefore feel free to pose any questions or provide feedback via comments.
Update: I will soon have my online checkout set up on the site for anyone to use so that you may purchase signed fine art prints. These will be mailed to your door and will be matted and ready to put in a frame.
Update ++: I will be participating in the Chester Art Fair on Saturday August 7th! So be sure to stop by the Chester Art Center that day as the town starts to ramp up for Race Week. Hope to see some of you there!
