Shot Notes

In trying to get some more diverse shots on here, I thought I would post something from the great indoors. This is the piano in my living room. I’ve taken many pictures of it while experimenting with HDR processing. After the post processing, I noticed that someone had written note names on the front of the keys.

I like trying to imagine all the old stories that have been left in and on the piano over the years in the form of dings, dents, scratches, and scrapes… I dated the piano from the serial number at ~1890 so there are more than a few stories in this one.

This shot was taken with a single incandescent light that I have in my living room – nothing really fancy. I like the shadows cast by using a single light source.
