Shot Notes

I love to shoot a parade – the Apple Blossom Parade is quite a spectacle. I lived in the Valley for quite some time and never actually made it out to this parade.

These fellas are part of the RCMP Pipes and Drums from Halifax. I used to play snare drum in the RCAF Pipes and Drums in Amherst when I was in High School so I’m glad to give the drums some love on the blog! I had to get super close to the band with my little Ricoh GRD 4 – It has a nice wide lens (28mm is the 35mm equivalent) so it is a challenge to try to get close enough to fill that frame… But when you DO fill that frame, you will often be rewarded. Great glass in this camera.
