This was the scene just hours after a hurricane rolled through The Maritimes. Earl landed just south of Lunenburg and went on to pummel Halifax and surrounding areas. This is a view from Cherry Hill Beach. Quite the commotion! Take a listen below to hear the commotion first-hand! Okay… second hand. I’m glad to finally post a new sound recording. Went for a swim at Crescent Beach last evening after work. The water is insanely warm right now as is the air. It has been in the 30′s all week down here. I love the way the sun is beaming up from behind the horizon in the distance.

There’s a bit of a heat wave going through Nova Scotia right now. This one was taken mid-summer when the temperatures were roughly the same. This is the old railway bridge that traverses the Gaspereau River around the Hortonville area. It has appeared on the blog before.

Ahh the quaint little Fisherman’s Cove area of HRM. I have been diving back into the photos I took here a couple months ago. I think I will be posting more of these as they all seem to have neat sun-rays shining down through the clouds… and sun-rays always look cool in photos.

I love driving down this road in the evening.

This was taken earlier in the summer on a trip to Prince Edward Island. I haven’t been to Kensington for more than a few minutes before this. Just long enough to drive through the town. There is a great little section in town that was once a bustling train station that really helped the town flourish in the late 1800′s.

The light coming through the curtains late this afternoon was making interesting shadows on my curtains. I thought it should be documented. My 50mm f/1.8 prime lens was in use yet again to capture all the detail in the fabric. I can’t recommend these sorts of lenses enough. They are cheap, fast and sharp.

This was taken a couple weeks ago at a local soccer match. This is also a timely post as the new English Premiership soccer season kicks of over seas. FUN!

This was taken early on in the Summer. This was the first time I had been to this area of the Halifax Regional Municipality. It’s just outside the city but you wouldn’t know it by this photo alone.

I still have images of castles bouncing around in my head from all the old English music last night. This photo was taken at Point Pleasant Park in Halifax… looks like a castle to me in this context however, so a castle it is.
